Hellblazer city of demons

ugh i really like this lettering but i hate the damn character which i suppose is good writing FUCK this lettering it’s so BEAUTIFUL.

You hate Hellblazer? Why?

Yes, why??

Basically I think he’s kind of a fake teenager hipster caught in a story meant for a bigger person.
I think if I met him in person and could see the sides of him that by nature of fiction can’t be shown, I might like him more… I like his books, and his writers, but usually because he’s such a central part I’m not the addicted reader type, you know?

I thought Mike Carey did a pretty good job of breaking down John’s facade in his run. He showed that Constantine is ultimately a coward that runs away from his responsibilities.
Instead of mourning the death of his sister with the rest of his family, he deals with the loss by going to a secret meeting only to lash out against a bunch of wanna-be magicians who idolize him.
It doesn’t really make him the most sympathetic character, but I think it shows that he’s more than a too cool quip machine.
It depends on who’s writing I guess. Like with all comics.
I just follow writers. Fuck characters.
